Flexible Tour Options

At Magnificent Mongolia, we believe travel is more than just a journey — it’s an experience that stays with you forever. Some travelers seek the comfort of luxury, while others long for authentic encounters with local culture. We embrace both, offering flexible tours that let you design your adventure your way.

The choice of accommodation is what shapes your journey. Outside Ulaanbaatar, you can wake up in a tourist camp, sipping coffee as the sun rises over the vast steppe, surrounded by modern comforts. Or you can share tea with a nomadic family in a traditional ger, listening to stories passed down through generations. Each option has its own magic — and you don’t have to choose just one. Imagine a 10-night trip where half your evenings are spent in cozy camps and the other half in authentic ger guesthouses, giving you the best of both worlds.

To make it simple, we offer three packages: Budget, Standard, and Mixed. Whether you dream of luxury, authenticity, or a perfect blend, Magnificent Mongolia is ready to craft an unforgettable adventure just for you.

What is a tourist camp ?
Think of a tourist camp as Mongolia’s version of a hotel — but with a unique twist. Instead of modern buildings and rooms, you’ll stay in traditional gers, the iconic round dwellings made of wood and felt that nomadic families have used for centuries. A typical camp has 20–30 gers, plus a few separate buildings for bathrooms, showers, and dining.

- Standard Gers: Each comes with 2–4 beds (with fresh towels and bedding), a table, stools, and a stove to keep you warm during chilly nights. Meals — breakfast, lunch, and dinner — are served in the camp’s restaurant or bar. For showers and toilets, you’ll step outside to a nearby bathroom building, which has separate wings for men and women, each with private sections.

- Luxury Gers: For those who prefer extra comfort, some camps offer upgraded gers with added furniture like sofas, glass doors, and windows. These feature private bathrooms, floor heating, electricity, Wi-Fi, and even more modern amenities — so you can enjoy tradition without sacrificing convenience.
In short, tourist camps combine the authentic charm of Mongolian nomadic life with the comforts of modern hospitality, making them a perfect choice for travelers who want both adventure and ease.

What is a ger-guesthouse or nomad home-stay?

For many nomadic families living near Mongolia’s national parks and popular attractions, hospitality is a way of life. To welcome travelers, they often build 5–10 extra gers beside their homes and rent them out as guesthouses. These gers typically have 4–6 beds, a table, stools, and a stove for warmth. Some guesthouses offer meals in a small restaurant, while others invite you to share simple home-cooked dishes.
Facilities vary: a few guesthouses feature proper showers and toilets, but most rely on traditional outhouses and do not have shower facilities. While more rustic, these stays offer something priceless — authenticity.
In the most remote corners of Mongolia, accommodations can be scarce. That’s when the true spirit of Mongolian hospitality shines. We often arrange for travelers to stay directly with nomad families in their own homes. These nomad home-stays often become the highlight of the journey: sharing dinner, exchanging stories, and discovering each other’s cultures around the warmth of a stove. Guests leave with unforgettable memories, and nomads cherish the chance to connect with people from around the world.
Even in more touristic areas, nomad guesthouses can offer the same heartfelt experience — a genuine glimpse into Mongolia’s traditions, where every stay feels like being welcomed into a family.
