Ikh Bogd Mountain

Ikh Bogd is the highest mountain of Gobi-Altai mountains, located in Jinst sum, Bayankhongor province.

The elevation of Bogd mountain is 3,957m above sea level.

This mountain is ideal for trekking, hiking, and geographical expedition.

 in 1950s, this area was hit by an earthquake of 11 magnitude; two lakes were formed as a result- Oyut and Binderya.

Some of the attractions include Bichigt khad, an intriguing petroglyph dating back to bronze age, as well as Tsagaan cave(White cave) which is considered the site of the earliest human appearance in Mongolia , with proof of human existence about 700,000 years ago.
