Overview

Otgontenger Mountain, rising to 4,021 meters above sea level, is the highest peak of the Khangai mountain range in central Mongolia. Formed over three billion years ago, the Khangai range is one of the oldest geological formations in the country. Otgontenger is unique among its peaks for having a permanent glacier above the 3,752 m line, making it a striking natural landmark.
