Achit lake

A number of beautiful lakes is located in Uvs province, Mongolia. Achit is the biggest freshwater lake among the lakes in Uvs region.

Surface area:290 km²

Width:  16 km

Length: 28 km

Depth:  10 m

The following are the main rivers feeding Achit lake: Uliastai river, Bukh Murun river, Khatuugin river, Tsagaan Nuur river.

The coast is inhabited by ethnic tribes of Uriankhai and Durvud people.
